Charles Borkhuis

Sonnet II
when first seen
(correction) lettered sleep
moving the pen

fever-child on the ceiling
body in bed
flying over the forest

four men in wolves’ clothing
bound through a clearing
leaving bones and silver tails

in a corner of his room
(windy feet)
snow prints collect across the page
he will write
of a howling in the grain
